Peugeot 308: Refitting : Reduction gear

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

3. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Refit :

• The 2 bolts (1)
• The park finger locking mechanism (2)

CAUTION : Check for the presence of the O-ring on the park finger locking actuator (6) ; Oil the O-ring seal on refitting.

Refit :

• The oil filler neck (4)
• The bolt (3)
• The park finger locking actuator ‎(6)
• The 3 bolts (5)

N.B. : Apply 4 spots of grease (index "G16") on the adjustment shims to hold in position during assembly .

Refit :

• The adjusting shims (7)
• The differential bearing cup (8)
• The output shaft bearing cup (9)

Refit :

• New centring pins (10)
• The differential bearing cup (12)
• The output shaft bearing cup (11)

CAUTION : Check for the presence of the magnet before refitting the input and output shafts.

Refit :

• The input shaft (14) and output shaft (15) assembly
• The differential (13)

Clean the gasket face.

CAUTION : The surfaces interfacing with the sealing product must be dry ; The diameter of the bead of sealant must be between 2 and 3 mm with no gaps.

Apply the bead of sealant index "E10" (at "a").

CAUTION : Observe the order of tightening of the bolts (16) .

Refit :

• The casing (17)
• The 16 bolts (16)

Couple up the breather pipe (18) (at "b").

Refit :

• The torque reaction rod support (19)
• The 3 bolts (20)

CAUTION : Remove the protection from the input shaft (14) lip seal (22) after refitting it.

Refit :

• The new differential (13) right-hand lip seal (21) ; Using the tool [0346-X]
• The new input shaft (14) lip seal (22) ; Using the tool [0360]

Fit the new differential (13) left-hand lip seal (23) ; Using the tool [0346-W].
